Phillip Crosby

Chief Executive Officer, Dan-O’s Seasoning

Phillip Crosby is CEO of Dan-O's Seasoning, one of the fastest-growing food brands in the country. Under his leadership, the company has landed at #37 on the Inc. 5000 (900% growth) and earned a place on Bain's Insurgent Brands list three years running: 2024, 2025, and 2026. He also drove the push into national retail, convincing Kroger and Walmart to bring Dan-O's into stores across the country; new product launches climbed to #1 in their categories on Amazon.

Before Dan-O's, Phil founded Crosby Interactive, a digital marketing company known for engineering rapid growth for its clients. As a student at the University of Louisville, he co-founded U.S. Publishing, an agricultural print advertising business he grew to over a million monthly subscribers before selling the business to an international company.

Phil lives with his wife on a farm near Louisville, Kentucky, where they raise cattle and keep a full house of pets. When he's not working, he stays active with camping, hiking, horseback riding, boating, golfing, and soccer.

What attracted you to your current role at Dan-O's?

I've always been drawn to roles where I can help others succeed, whether as a founder or an executive. Dan Oliver is an incredibly authentic founder with a vision to build a household-name brand in consumer packaged goods that's accessible and affordable for everyone. That mission resonated with me immediately, and I knew I wanted to be part of turning it into reality.

Why are you excited about your partnership with Newcastle?

Capital isn't just about valuation. It's about partnership, governance alignment, and long-term value creation, and the right partner brings strategic insight, relationships, and a shared vision along with the resources. We've known the Newcastle team for a while, and long before any formal transaction discussions began, they were already showing up as thoughtful strategic sounding boards, offering data-driven retail insights and introducing us to valuable industry relationships. That partnership mindset, rather than a transactional one, gave us real confidence in the road ahead.
