Michael Kesselman
Partner, Head of Operations, The Newcastle Network
Michael is the architect behind Newcastle’s internal operating system that quietly powers everything from our investment stage gates to the tools, data, and systems that help our team and portfolio companies work smarter. He’s the kind of person who makes complex things feel simple—and who will drop everything to help you solve a problem, no matter how big or small. His intelligence runs deep, but it’s matched by humility and a deep commitment to supporting others.
Over his 25-year career, Michael has developed transformative technology solutions for some of the country’s largest enterprises, as well as millions of small businesses worldwide. He has been a founder (GeoVue, acquired by Versata), a consultant (Bain & Company), and a tech executive (EVP of Growth at Endurance International). As the head of an innovation team inside a public company, he led two acquisitions—one to build, one to scale—which established a new line of business generating $50M+ in recurring revenue in three years.
What’s your why?
I’m a data and technology “plumber” at heart. Why? Because when information moves as effortlessly as water through a well-built system and technology disappears into the background, teams stop reacting to noise and start shaping the future with intent.
If you could instantly become an expert in anything, which would you choose and why?
Guitar. After my kids left for college, I began teaching myself to play and am loving the challenge. Since the road to mastery is still decades away, I’d always welcome a shortcut.
What's your most controversial food opinion?
I love chicken wings. Bone-in flats are my staple. Blue cheese (for the celery only) - never ranch!
What's your go-to karaoke song?
“YYZ” by Rush
